| Will I lose control of what I do? |

Images of stage hypnotists making people attempt to dance like Michael Jackson or doing a chicken impression often serve to do hypnotherapy no justice. In reality people have different perceptions after a session. You will be conscious all the time whilst drifting in and out of conscious awareness. This would be similar to if you listening to someone talk and you suddenly realise you have not heard anything they have said as you were thinking of something else. Hypnosis cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. A good analogy is telling someone the directions when they are driving the car. They will follow your route but will not drive into a building if you ask. In a similar way a hypnotherapist can guide you but you will always remain in full control of your behaviour.
